Coor Service Management is the Nordic leader in service management. The company specializes in managing, developing and making service functions more effective in offices, production facilities and in public services in the Nordic countries. Ericsson, Volvo Cars, Saab and Scania are some of their customers.
Coor Service Management conducts necessary stopping time measurements with presses. A stopping analyzer has therefore always been an important tool for them to obtain machine parameter information, i.e. if a light curtain is mounted at a correct distance from the dangerous parts of a press. A more thorough analysis of machine stopping related measurements has not been possible until they purchased a Smart system from Jokab Safety.
Igor Cash, responsible for these measurements at Coor Service Management, was recently interviewed about his experiences with the Smart analysis tool.
What was the main reason for your purchase of Smart?
We had a stopping analyzer which could not present the data with the detail we required. With Smart you can store the measurements electronically and the end customer can directly see/obtain a finished report that looks great.
Is there any specific function in the Smart Manager that stands out?
Igor Cah indicated that it is a great advantage to be able to compare the status before and after machine maintenance when using the ”layer” function in the Smart Analyzer Tool. Directly after the measurement I can open the graph and follow the entire chain of events where all the parameters are available, i.e. time, speed, positions, distances and also values from other units with analogue outputs. It is also very good that it is possible to carry out the calculations of the safety distance in the program, with the aid of stored measurements and to present this information in the report later.
What do you think about the Smart equipment you have purchased?
It is easy to carry the system with you because all the equipment including the computer fits into the Smart carrying case. The connection of the equipment is simple and some sensors/stopping units enable measurements to be taken without any electrical connection to the machine. Concerning the license, it is good that it is valid for many users and that program updates can be downloaded free of charge from the Internet.

How do you perceive the adjustment possiblities?
All adjustment possibilities that one can think of are included.
Can you see any other possible applications other than stopping time analysis?
